pin
The vRS is one of the most underrated cars out there
Lord Geordie
it was OK until they put the badge on it AND the OTT price tag Once VW had a hand in there and people started to buy em (Taxi drivers etc) they bumped the prices RIGHT up. What was once marketed as an affordable option for a new car became a stuck up and greedy company! I will NEVER touch a Skoda i would rather run about in a reliant robin!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pin
The vRS is still one of the most economical hot hatches out there. Compared to Fraud, Citicon or PeugOHH they are miles in front. Ask any competent mechanic, they are just built well
Mungler
Is the VRS quick? Talking of performance and economy, I can't believe how quick some of the new turbo diesels are. The new new 335 turbo diesel is apparently faster than an M3 and with shed loads more torque. Looks like we will all be shouting taxi at one another in a few years time. Hodmedod.one
A friend of my wife has got a Skoda Octavia diesel. I get to drive it on a fairly regular basis as she is incapable of reversing it out of our driveway :o She has had it from new. It is low mileage and is serviced at the Skoda dealership she bought it from. It is a piece of junk. It does everything it is supposed to, but does nothing well. Nothing feels "tight" on it. Everything feels "soggy". I wouldn't have one if you gave it to me. You can't polish a ****.

SNAKEBITE
A friend at work who knows and loves his cars (he is after the new BMW 335) says that his opinion changed when he got into a new Skoda, up until then he was of the opinion that they were junk, now he is wondering whether spending 40,000 on a 335 is worth it after all! Can he pay for MY house to then :o Still think £22.000 is FAR too much for a car that is made in such vast quantities it must cost less than £5000 even WITH the labour costs. Dead-Eyed Duck
Inbetween two Subaru Foresters I had a Skoda Octavia 4 x 4 Estate. 1.8 turbo petrol engine. Wonderful car and superb handling. Chuffin fast. Nothing went wrong in 115,000 miles. Would have got another but the Scooby was a better bet for offroad plus the huge sun roof for shooting out of. Nowt wrong with Skoda's. the hitman
We have a octavia estate as a pool car at work , its 2ltr 140hp diesel .
