markm
I'm not into illegal streaming, not interested in dodgy boxes. I have a good freeview signal and BT fibre boardband. I'm currently paying £80, for 3 sky+ HD boxes with the family package. Mostly watch TV recorded. As an alternative, I'm thinking 2 x firesticks or nowTV and take out the family subscription for 6 months. If the kids want a movie then I'll rent it for them. (They watch youtubers on their gadgets all the time anyway) For the main room (60" curved tv) get a quality freeview HD recorder as most of what we watch is on channels 1- 5. Thoughts? Dannyboy220
Ring them up and tell them Virgin have offered you a much better deal for the same service. They will halve the bill almost to keep you if you push them right.

HDAV
.Seen an offer for sky Q for £35 a month sounds like it would be ideal for up you and £65 ish for main box and 2 extras (may not be needed with Q) Or get bt vision or tslktalk or ee tv but free view plus box with smart functions and Netflix/prime will probably cover you for under £20 a month after initial investment Sky is the best but not cheap..... Flashman
Sky Q is pretty good and they had some good-ish offers when it launched.
ph5172
We have freeview box (its actually our old talk talk plus box) it has the 'apps' so Netflix, all the catchup players and NowTV. I wait for offers on NowTV (at the moment i have 3 months 'entertainment' for £3 via the store) usually there is always a retailer that have a box and card offer running so i pick them up as the cards don't seem to expire. They have 4 separate packages - Entertainment - Sky 1 and Atlantic with Gold and a few others (this also has access to a few box sets) - Movies - Sky Cinema / Movies with the back catalogue - Kids - Sport - Expensive!! As i use a talktalk box i can only get Sky movies on the NowTV app due to licencing issues - i am not sure if the same applies to other brands so i use a now TV box to access the other content When i was looking around HUMAX seem to be the Rolls Royce of the Freeview/Freesat world - they are also very helpful if you give them a bell Edited November 17, 2016 by ph5172
paul65
We have NowTV entertainment and kids. We watch the main channels on our old Sky boxes. We watch sport down the pub. We watch movies on Kodi because watching streamed movies ISN'T illegal.
Adge Cutler
I have BT Vision, with Netflix, Phone, (Free weekend and evening) Broadband Infinity and Sky sports 1 & 2 Packages Bolt plus free Net protect plus which I pay £65 a month for all in. All nice and tidy under one roof, no nasty woks stuck on the side of the house... Whenever BT have contacted me saying things are going up I just shop around for the best deal cheaper and email customer services with the details. Before 2015 I just asked for a MAC number and they always seemed keen to keep me so we just do a deal every now and then.
