silverhawk
Does anyone shoot this calibre for Vermin control? I'm considering getting one for use down the club but I have a slot for a 223 for vermin/target and looking to swap it for a 38/357 if it can be done.Cheers
Jaymo
Underdog who used be on here certainly did, and if my memory serves me well then I think one other.
Vince Green
I have heard of others on the local grapevine using them for fox but the problem is accuracy not power. Its not a bunny gun. Edited January 12, 2017 by Vince Green
Jaymo
I scoped my one I have here- it's a Rossi and managed to get a rail for it from the states.
Lloyd90
I scoped my one I have here- it's a Rossi and managed to get a rail for it from the states. Is it accurate out to 100 yards?
Jaymo
Lloyd90 Can't truthfully answer that as never tried it at those distances. I use it on the gallery range which is max 50m
Fisheruk
Not really, I have used them in the states 50 60 yards from standing but never used sticks with them.
69chris
iv had a few fox with my rossi, iron sights on mine keep ranges sensible but im sure with a scope it'd be more than enough out to 100 yards i love the calibre, ammos cheap and available everywhere (my gun isnt keen on cycling .38s so i just stick to .357) i did try some hornady lever-evolution but for my shooting the (much cheaper !) 158g hollow point geco are plenty good enough
marktattoo
A friend has his underlever has his conditioned for fox
nagantino
It's a good question. I use mine for Cowboy Action with very downloaded .357 and for Cowboy it's very accurate. I sometimes practice from 50 yards and it still good. If I loaded a grain or 2 more Titegroup I'm sure it would take a fox easily, for both accuracy and stopping power
Vince Green
Is it accurate out to 100 yards? I shoot mine at 100yds quite regularly. It is accurate but the trajectory is a bit curved and it is very affected by side winds. So you have to know what you are doing, its not just a point and shoot like a .223 would be.
