Ramsey stalks deer

he didn't bloody shoot it and not for practical reasons (ie backstop etc), just decided that he didn't want to! YOu thought he would have been prepared to shoot it really if he had done all the stalking! Very good, pre shoot though lots of safety talk, range work and the importance of holding of shots for the "right" one.

I was really surprised that he didn't take the shot, He's so for showing you where food comes from and has previously shown geese and Pig's being slaughtered, may be it was because this time it was going to be him doing the killing?

I just looked on youtube to see if the clip was up there yet and found a clip of him walking into his restraunt with a dead roebuck over his shoulder. Shock tactics and all that.

So as you say he is all for showing the link from the field to the table, but not able to kill something to start the process off.

I think the BASC missed a trick here and (if they had the time of course) should have got him steadied down to take one out, and then put THAT out on the telly.

.....but if he fluffed the shot :good::/:P

That's the beauty of pre recording hd they stopped live broadcasts about the same time as Muffin the Mule went off air :good:

Well he didn't fluff it, he just didn't take it.

My point was they should have given him some more time and then had another go, and then used THAT clip in the program.

But I am sure the answer will be, they only a day or 2 to get the footage and then packed up.

And TBH a shot at a munty that only stopped for split second probably wasn't the best one to go for on your first stalking session.

His cammo did change midway through the piece; Realtree at the start then some kind of DPM outfit from Millets of St Albans, when he was supposedly kicking himself for bottling it right at the end . I agree he was holding the rifle badly. He was resting the rifle wood directly on the high seat also, which I have always been told is bad practice.

I reckon it might have been worked out beforehand. Couldn't it have been bad PR for him to have taken the shot? No one is in any doubt now that he strongly supports stalking of wild deer for the table, but no one can directly accuse him of actually killing Bambi.
