TIGHTCHOKE
It was bland, unexciting and, contrary to what you think, didn't actually say anything about what or who Countryside Alliance are. It looked like it had been made by a Doris in MS Paint during lunch hour. And the new one looks like the Countryside Allowance are getting in to Hot Air Ballooning! Fatcatsplat
But, it said what it was, the current logo looks like an Insurance Company, or Building Society. And the new one looks like the Countryside Allowance are getting in to Hot Air Ballooning! Looks to me like an advert for Heart Radio - Make a great logo for them
mick miller
No, if you look it has 'love of the countryside' (the heart shape), 'we talk about countryside issues' (the quotation marks), 'fields and grass' (in the green sections and stripes), 'rivers, lakes and streams' (in the blue wavy sections) - I'm not overly keen in the font used, it may grow on me but seems an odd choice, however the heart emblem really is quite clever. The fact that is lost on many of you isn't terribly surprising to a designer. Most folk don't understand why they want to buy a product or are persuaded to buy it as a result of logo mark, subtle design cues and the atmosphere and relationship it creates to the customer and that is largely because those triggers are often quite complex and operate at a subconscious level. Apple for instance, why do people insist on spending way too much money on technically below average phones? It's not because they are better equipped or more versatile items (they aren't) but all about the brand and the relationship the product and brand has with the customer. The old CA logo was the sort of unimaginative dullness you see on the side of one-man-band operations. You know, like this... Brilliant! mick miller
Actually, you'll probably like that one! My wife thinks I'm obsessive when it comes to design, here are some of my best ones. Edited February 8, 2017 by mick miller

I think I know what you're saying... it's similar to my wife thinking that I'm 'obsessed with sex' when she looks at some of my best logos. I just can't see what she's on about myself? There's a saying. "User Interface is a bit like a joke. If you've got to explain it, it's probably poo." I find this also applies to logos. Edit: Although I did just have to explain the Sonos Logo However, I don't feel that has nearly as many hidden meanings as this one does. Edited February 9, 2017 by Billy. mick miller
Poop. I believe the expression is 'hoisted by your own petard' Billy. Edited February 9, 2017 by mick miller
