Gordon R
It sounds like either the slave cylinder or the master cylinder. Master cylinder is far more expensive than the slave. 12 hours seems over the top even if it is both and the whole system needs bleeding. Check that the master cylinder has fluid in it - the one you top up under the bonnet - then pump the pedal. If it is the slave cylinder you should be getting fluid dripping from between the engine and gearbox - just look underneath for a drip. If it is the master cylinder - you might get fluid down the clutch pedal inside the cab.
69chris
slaves inside the box so time consuming to get at, assuming the quote inc's a clutch kit as no point not fitting a new un whilst in there
bazzab
As above... there inside the bell housing. Box needs to come off so I'd like to think they'll stick a clutch in it as well. They can be a sod to bleed as well. Done a fair few years ago. Hendrix's rifle
Concentric slave, box out for it. There a nightmare. 6 speed box by any chance? Last 1 I did I had to drop the Subframe. I'd give 8 hours
bluesj
!2 hours seams a bit much but your looking at £250 ish for a clutch and slave cylinder so the price doesn't look that bad

Saying that though they sent the wrong clutch so I had to wait for the correct one Edited February 11, 2017 by Royboy
defender
I bleed them with a syringe and pump fluid back up the pipes from the bleed screw to the master cylinder and fill the slave with fluid before I fit it. Done a few, work at a Renault specialist. Used the same trick on my rd350 front brake perfect brake straight away.

I use that one on my bikes, boss doesn't like me using it on cars be it brakes or slaves :( would save a lot of time how would you do it with a slave where the nipple is on the pipe going into the slave? (Single pipe job)

(Single pipe job) For years I've filled the slave with fluid so when I put the gbox on it forces fluid out and leaves the slave air free, then if the system has no air to the slave pipe when I plug the pipe in it has an instant clutch pedal. Vivaro/traffics can be a swine to get air out to the pipework but once theres no air from the bleed nipple to the master its easy. The syringe tip came from a Renault master tech.
