Shooting Tom
I'm looking to buy a 22-250 to be used to lamp foxes. I'm very much a novice when it comes to rifles. I've been looking at the BROWNING X-BOLT STAINLESS COMPOSITE DT,THREADED and the TIKKA T3X SUPER VARMINT-ADJUSTABLE SYNTHETIC/STAINLESS. I would be looking at putting a moderator on it also. If anyone has any suggestions on what's the best setup that would be great! Cheers Tom
foxbuster
Tikka gets my vote, but saying that pretty much any new rifle will give you the accuracy you need straight out of the box......if coupled with a good scope.
bumpy22
tikka gets the thumbs up here. only because i have a semi custom one . but a mate of mine has a x bolt and when i have used it seems a decent rifle. although i am certainly not a fan of the synthetic stock

I've never had any problems with rusting etc.

Woodlander
Don't think you can beat a Tikka. I have 2 ASE SL5 s on my .222 and .204. Seem ok,but I've never compared them another.

Simon1
Had you not said you were a novice, I wouldn't have mentioned it... but have you also considered 243? Not quite as laser like as the 250, but much better in wind. As for which model to get, I'd go for the one sold by the person who gives you the best opportunity to return it if it doesn't shoot well.
