Hey guys. I'm after your opinions on this one as I'm unsure what to go with. I'm guessing something fairly large and over barrel? I'm not too fused about the weight or size as I don't use the gun really often and budget is more important really because of that. I'm thinking a Wildcat P12? What are your thoughts?

On my 300WinMag I have the 12" Wildcat

Have gone from having a muzzle brake to this and notice a huge difference due to both the removal of the brake and addition of the Mod.

Weight wasn't/ isn't an issue as the rifle is not exactly a 'carrying' item anyway ;-)

I doubt you need one on a lap mag

What makes you say that? It kicks like a mule and isn't exactly quiet. Good reason to have one I'd say?

It's a Win Mag. Not a massive amount in it energy wise between it and the Lap, the Lap beating it by about 500ft-lbs I think. But it's a light sporter weight rifle not a big fluted and braked range beast. The recoil is fairly substantial and making it shootable without ear defenders is very appealing!

I have a Wildcat on my .338 Lapua. Before i had one i would regularly go out without my ear defenders only wishing that i would not see anything to shoot.

A friend of mine has a un-moderated .243 and it is louder and there is more recoil than on my .338. I would definitely recommend one.
