Bemused
I've obtained a "project" for my son, it's a two seater Dingo go kart which has been stood for a few years. We cleaned it up, changed the oil, sparkplug and fitted a new fuel pipe. It starts and runs for about 10 - 15 seconds then stalls and a bit of petrol comes out of the air intake. Any ideas/easy fixes or is it a case of removing the carb and stripping it?

bolly2201
The petrol will have crystallised in the carb. Strip down and clean with choke/ carb cleaner. Should sort it. Best
Bemused
Thanks I've never stripped a carb. Is it an easy job or hand it over to a garage? I'm useless at following youtube videos
Rupert
dead easy, go slow lay all the bits out logically, is it a honda?GX160?
Luckyshot
Assuming it is a gx motor if you're not good with the spanners just replace the carb for under £10 its easier than strip and rebuild if you're not mechanically minded. Vince Green
Or just keep starting it up, nothing is guaranteed in this life, but more often than not it will clear itself eventually if you persist. ferguson_tom
Sometime just taking it off and leaving in a tray of petrol does the job rather than complete strip down.
Hendrix's rifle
Take care off, either 2 10mm nuts/bolts depending or a jubilee clip on a rubber, turn it upside down and there should be 4 screws and maybe a pipe. Undo 4 screws and take the bowl off. From there you will exposed the jets and float. Spray it all in carbon cleaner through the jets and preferably remove the pin that holds the float in it should just slide out 1 side. Spray inside there with carbon cleaner and refit. Should be on a winner. If your not mechanical send it somewhere or get a new one if there cheap
