Lloyd90
Just a theoretical question I have that's got me wondering after discussion restricted shotgun mags in a separate thread etc  If someone has a section 5 restricted pistol that's a magazine fed one, what's there to stop them buying a spare magazine and just swapping it over? 😳  For a revolver as the cyclinder is welded then you can't do this! (Or can you? I've no idea if you can swap a cyclinder?)  Just had me scratching my head! I don't imagine it's easy to buy a spare magazine for a pistol ? 243ack
Very easy to purchase unrestricted 'pistol' mags. They are not restricted items and can therefore be purchased without any form of licence. If your 'ticket' only allows two shot and you fit this unrestricted magazine into your pistol, you commit a 'Section 5' offence. Â Daft, isn't it!. bluesj
A revolver cylinder is a restricted item as its pressure bearing so you need a license for one.
Lloyd90
A revolver cylinder is a restricted item as its pressure bearing so you need a license for one. But apparently you could buy an unrestricted pistol magazine and have that no problem. Â I suppose it is what it is!

saddler
A bit like a few uk firms sell folding stocks for shotguns, or pistol grips. Adding them to a gun is likely to bring it below minimum legal length. Â B&Q sell junior hacksaws. Plenty of nice articles online about making whippet shotguns. Totally illegal but about 15 minutes at most time outlay (14 minutes being to "make good") Edited April 24, 2017 by saddler
