Well that's interesting....

 

My son, who still lives with us, had his shotgun licence renewal reminder slightly before mine but didn't send it back until a few days after I sent mine. He attends the same health centre [GP surgery] but unlike me did not specify a GP name just the health centre. He has just received his new certificate without any contact from a GP or request for a fee.

 

Methinks a call to the Firearms Dept is in order...

I have never specified a GP by name; instead simply writing in the name of the practice, and incidentally I am one of those who has to declare a medical history. Interesting.

Glasgow police would not processe the "air gun licence" until they had heard back from the doctors.

 

 

 

I was told by the police that " if they do not get a report back from the doctors they cannot continue with the application and it will be refused. I have to chase up my medical report because the doctors never received the letter from the police. The police siad they have to hear back from the doctor to know that you are fit to get/hold a licence.

 

I did not have anything to pay for the medical report.
