Lovely work as usual - excuse my ignorance but what is the 'string'

Oak veneer or something else stained? So many questions... I'm renovating my stairs so we might have to have a chat at the PW Catton!

us ? Chat ? lol that'll be the day gone ;) like every year dude.

Strings the bit up the sides.

Oak veneer is 1mm thick and sticks onto the sides to look like solid oak.

We supply kits or the complete job ;)

Currently on 4 months tho

Don't think I'm showing the wife this one in a hurry, she is for ever saying how one day she will get a proper nice staircase, women.

If your staircase is solid your better off doing this :) it's less mess and cheaper. £10 for every 100mm of newel or £100 a metre but it's fitted in minutes sometimes.

If your local to Tamworth ever just call in.

Mines all made up but I haven't the time to fit it lol

4 months is about right given I renovate at the same speed a tectonic plate moves

Yeah that's right, I said tectonic, I went to school!

Seriously nice though mate, I have already made the mistake of showing the mrs. Perhaps I'll get her one step per birthday for the next seventeen years.

only 12 steps on a staircase lol

Call in and see us at the workshop

Next door had there's done, two years ago maybe same idea she was drooling , doesn't want the glass, I've said not a chance until everything upstairs has been done. Couldn't care less what catches the stairs on the way up now, if they looked like those id be terrified of clipping them.

Nice work there sir.

When we moved into this house we are in now it needed a complete refurb.

With the stairs cause the oak had been painted with green gloss so had the metal iron work. So I striped all the wood back and for the metal work stripped and coated black. Looks a million times better love the grain of the wood.

Made all the hard work worth it
