Penelope
Does anyone know of any contacts that may be able to provide a small'ish day (50-100 brace) for a single gun to make up a team to shoot driven Grouse in the 2018 season? It's my 50th next year and looking for something family and friends can contribute to.
Smokersmith
Try Dalesport .... www.dalesport.org We've had a few days with them and I think this season may be the one to do it !! It won't be cheap, but you're only here once and it'll be an experience that you'll never forget.
JDog
Single Guns often have difficulty finding places in teams to shoot grouse. When you put your feelers out tell them that you will be available at short notice. As Smoker says this season may be the best in a while after a long dry spring giving ideal breeding conditions. There will be getting on for £2000 / gun difference between a 50 brace day and a 100 brace day. Edited June 8, 2017 by JDog
Penelope
Thanks gents. I appreciate this year should be a good one to pick, but I'm not 50 until next year so it's a no go. I have seen days offered on Guns on Pegs for sub £2000 for up to 80 brace for this season. Mice!
I've been a beater on grouse moors up in Scotland, didn't realise it was as expensive as that. They certainly shift tho that's for sure.
