mellors
Hi all Got stopped yesterday in my new Isuzu dmax. Luckily I had done a lot of research prior to purchasing. The problem is as most of you will know any pickup weighing over 2040 kilos is restricted to 50 on 2 lane carriage ways and 60 on dual carriage ways. As I knew I was able to put em right but it's not explained when you buy one. The main ones that will be affected are Toyota some l200s and vw amrock, and ford ranger. This only applys to vehicles after 2011. Looks like they've found another easy income. So beware.

mellors
What I was told and read on the net. Makes no sense It's worse with land-rover So many grey areas. There's a lot of people out there obviously don't know. Worth a read on V.O.S.A. site
walshie
Most double cab pickups are made specifically below that weight though. Is there one that weighs over that?
Penelope
Cool, my 2014 Hilux comes in at 10kg below.
billytheghillie
they are classed as a light goods vehicle, same as white van man.
walshie
Double cabs are classed as "Dual Purpose Vehicles" and not subject to goods vehicle speed limits. (Unless they are over 2040kg, which not many seem to be.)

ferguson_tom
Must have been a really slow day for the police, cant remember the last time i saw a ford transit doing under 85mph on a dual carriageway.
digger
I drive a restricted transit. I adhere to every speed limit from 20 near schools to those on motorways. I have between 11 and 13 points on my licence and have no plans to lose it..

digger
Very true. Best £990 I ever spent hiring my barrister. Actually find it so much more relaxing driving at or under the limit.
