bakerboy
If you want to know what BASC do have a look at the BASC Bites page. This gives an idea of what is going on and what is happening behind the scenes. Edited July 17, 2017 by bakerboy
wymberley
Well, the BASC is not a charity so comparisons are rather difficult. However I do think the last two Chief Executives weren't the best choices so I hope they do better next time. I rather hoped to be able to influence stuff like this but it wasn't to be. David. You could still make a difference. Have a chat to whoever gets the job and suggest that he has one of the in- house experts re-write, 'Cartridge Patterning - We need to do it and better'. panoma1
No top of the range cars at BASC Where do I mention BASC? The comment was a generalisation........And the Lol! At the end gives away it was tongue in cheek!

wymberley
Do you know what company cars BASC supply their eligible staff ? I, for one, hope that whatever they are they're fit for purpose enabling the staff to travel in comfort and safety. I don't know now, but imagine little will have changed since I did but many of the staff worked long and hard and by necessity piled on the miles. We in the UK live austere times, and as "call me Dave" said "were all in it together".....most employees, who during their working day occasionally need a vehicle, get a mileage allowance! Yep, times change. As said, I know not now, but when I was involved back along, they very nearly lived in them. Mind you, I was 'working' with the Education Department - don't think there is one now - times change.

I would assume they are, "fit for purpose enabling the staff to travel in comfort and safety" , I would expect nothing else from a responsible employer. Guest stevo
With an annual income of £11000000 from membership fees alone I doubt he will forced to knock around in a Suzuki jimmy that's for sure 🤔
Peter Marshall
I drive a Skoda Octavia, some of our regional guys drive 4x4 pickups to carry around equipment to shows and events. The Patterning paper was re-written and published in an article in SnC some months ago. BASC Bites gives you a snap shot of the work we do, and is really only the tip of the iceberg https://basc.org.uk/bascbites/ The Education Department still exists but is now called Sporting Services Many thanks, Peter Edited July 18, 2017 by Peter Marshall
beanieboy
BBC will today publish a list of folk earning over £150k per annum......when you see some of the eejits on the list, I suspect you'll consider a £100k salary for a CEO of a large organisation pretty reasonable by comparison!
