Mungler
I wondered if the knowledgeable massive can help. My old banger has developed an issue, in that changing up from 1st to 2nd on the auto gearbox is now a sticking problem - the car will stay in 1st all the way up the rev range (to say 5000 rpm etc) and won't change up from 1st to 2nd until I back off and take my foot off the accelerator - this sort of forces the gearbox to take stock, adjust and then change up. It's only 1st to 2nd. The cars got plenty of miles on it 120k but has been looked after. Cheers all.

Gordon R
I am advised that the oil level in gearbox needs checking. After that - torque converter fault.

hodge911
they do not have a dipstick to check oil level in box you are supposed to take them to the dealers to be checked as they have to be done at a certain temp ................but you can buy the dipsticks off the bay ................ I would say a oil & filter change will sort it if you send me the year and model I,ll check see the temp and fluid capacity for you [ if its on my autodata ] sorry didn't read last post about being in garage before I put my reply on Edited August 17, 2017 by hodge911
