Me matt
I always get asked for the three on the back- even from suppliers I've dealt with for years.

rimfire4969
If I was unscrupulous I could take a payment from you with the card number and expiry date. I do not need your name or last three numbers on the back.

Luckyshot
Amazon don't always ask for the 3 digit security code so Its possible that other companies may not as well.
39TDS
In this case I can 100% guarantee any unauthorised transactions have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with giving someone your card number by accident.
AVB
A payment transaction cannot be made with just the card number.
