Plwm
Thinking of buying an Ultra SE from my local gun shop but they don't do air cylinder filling. I assume PCP's aren't sent to an RFD already filled? If I'm correct I will have to fill it from empty with my pump - is this possible for its first fill? Cheers... Ultrastu
Yes they do go to the rfd with air usually around 150 - 200 bar . And a ultra se is very easy to pump from empty it only has a 175 mm air tube . Around 70cc
Snoozer
Yep my new HW100S arrived via rfd well into the Green, Couple of pumps with the Hill topped her off.
Dasher
If you have problems with filling from empty try cocking the gun first, obviously without it being loaded.

rovercoupe
I would have thought the shop would test it before handing it over to make sure its not over the limit and if it was out of air then I would suspect a leak if its a second hand gun, not saying i have been there and had to spend many hours replacing all the seals in the gun! Ultrastu
Im always very dubious when a pcp is empty of air in a shop .in fact they shouldnt really ever be ran lower than about 50 bar .and always store your guns long term with about 100 bar in them . Plwm
The RFD I am planning on buying from doesn't keep the Ultra se in stock but can order it in. I just wasn't sure if a gun would be sent precharged or not. Rover - what you say about the shop testing it first to make sure it's not over the limit makes sense. Ultra - will keep your advice to mind once I have bought my PCP
bruno22rf
Don't forget that local dive clubs or suppliers can normally recharge a tank.
Ultrastu
I'm my experience shops dont test guns for power often . Especially new ones ,and rarely sh either . If you have a chrono and your interested in a sh gun take it and test it your self . I do .
