I've always been under the impression that the less coatings on the scope the better. Example, my Nikko 4-12x50 is brilliant with my diy unit however my mtc genesis is no way near as good! They will work with some scopes and not others, bit like IR lighting for the NV units as well. I'm pretty sure mine was £420 ish a few months ago.
