I took these last week whilst having a wonder around with my camera.

For those interested, I have changed how I now shoot my camera. I used to shoot fully manual with Auto iso. I now shoot in Av mode, manually selecting the iso and adding 1 stop + exposure compensation to aid in keeping the image files as clean as possible.

I have noticed a difference in clarity and cleanliness whilst developing the files in lightroom.

(Eos 7dmkii and Sigma 150-600mm)

Cheers for looking,

Nice work Dave.

I was not aware you had been shooting in M mode.

AV vertually 99% of the time for me.

Shoot wide open ie lowest F stop.

Focus on the eye because that's what you want sharp.

Move your focus point in the frame to get your composition.

Spot meter if shooting under the subject against the sky, and over expose by at least a stop and half. In normal conditions shoot in Evaluate.

You can get a faster shutter speed by upping the iso as in light room you will get it back in noise reduction. However if at all possible keep it as low as you can just depends on conditions.

Camera set to Faithful I will have to check.

Colour balance cloudy.

Use a good tripod/gimble head turn image stabiliser off.

Shoot in raw.

Give it a go and see how things work out for you.

Cheers GG :good: Thanks for taking the time out to give a lengthy reply. I'm always learning and wanting to try new things.

I was aware Av mode was used by most wildlife photographers, but initially I couldn't get my head around it ( a bit like back button focus, but now that is all I use!).

Hopefully more to come :)

Again, thank you.
