henry d
My wife will be there for 8 hours while waiting for her flight to Kenya. I can`t see anything on their website about what currency can be used for buying food, does anyone have first hand experience? Thanks in advance
walshie
When I was there a couple of years ago they accepted GBP, but you get your change in Dirhams. Easier to either use a card for purchases or draw some from an ATM. Edited January 29, 2018 by walshie

figgy
As Above book her into a lounge, she can have a shower and relax with some nice food and drinks. For the cost I think they are well worth it, she will spend more just walking around shops bored when she sees things and thinks ill have one of them as women do. henry d
All good stuff and interesting about the lounges, when I was looking I assumed that they were free, apparently not! She won`t be shopping apart from the return leg perhaps as she won`t need any womenly gifts etc when in Kenya Thanks again!

simonm
The dirham is at a really good rate at the moment nearly 20% up on when I last went a year ago. I wouldn't bother getting local currency over here, pay on a credit card in local currency and take advantage of the good bank rate.
Strongman
If it’s still like when I was there in 2012 the prices in the airport were ridiculously high. My wife wanted some perfume and it was cheaper in Heathrow than Dubai airport, which was a relief as I didn’t get her any out there due to the price! Tobacco was really cheap.
