yickdaz
I found birds last sunday on a rape field we can't shoot but there is a tiny bit of stubble that borders the rape with 3 small sycamores right on the boundary so went back today at 11.30 I watched for nearly an hour and it looked promising about 300 on the field and in the trees I mentioned with birds coming in only trouble the wind would be in my face, but I knew I would get shooting so I set up for 1pm slow to start then 2pm onwards they were flighting well they were diving in from behind and had trouble getting in so I was shooting them as they rocketed past me quartering and going away difficult shooting but made the most of it I clicked 60 and 1 crow but picked 52 and the crow, that's the thing shooting at going away birds some of them you hit them then they catch the wind and fly on only to drop 300 yards away so lost 8 that way finished at 5pm very satisfied after not shooting at all last weekend
Clodhopper
Not an ideal situation but you made the most of it.?
motty
Excellent work, Daz. I set up with the wind in my face today, too. Muncher and myself had some good shots at some tricky going away birds. We picked 41.

Clodhopper
Out of interest how do you guys set up decoys, magnet position etc when the wind is in your face?
yickdaz
I just put the decoys well out and rotary to one side of the hide and try take them as they come across or downwind of the hide

pigeon controller
Daz, well done making the best of a difficult situation, are you now promoting enforcer decoys?? I hate shooting birds coming from the back and away but you have to do it to get a bag. You did well, result.

JDog
Well done Daz. When I shoot with a good wind in my face I end up with sores eyes from the powder or whatever it is blowing back in my face.

I know my reactions and eyesight are not good.
