mcsc51
I have a Parker Hale Ugartechea, and just gave a couple hundred for another Ugartechea , though mine came from Cortland NY in late 1980's and this came from I am assuming the 1990's when they had their troubles, and is distributed out of NC, where they had many misfit arms that surfaced..........but, my Parker has a AIII stamped on it and so does this one have a AIII stamped on it! It states it is a model 221, which is similar to the model 30! I have gone through this gun considerably careful and thorough, and it is very, very pretty and shoots very well! It states it has two full chokes, but my micrometer caliper states different, showing one is definitely full , but the other is medium! Has anyone ran into such a conundrum? Robertt
What a difficult conundrum I wonder what the answer could be? Medium choke? I hope this is not another iffy post. Yep, lets see some photos.? Edited July 9, 2018 by Robertt

Sorry, but I fail to see why you consider the reduction in choke in one barrel to be a conundrum ? If it was full & full when proofed, your vernier is indicating a previous owner has had one barrel reamed to reduce the degree of choke. Quite what you mean by `medium` is beyond me and not a term normally used when defining the degree of choke. Harnser
Back in the day most guns just were sold with half and full choke . The buyer then had them bored out to what they wanted . Nothing odd about your gun . harnser
mudpatten
I have a 2003 Ugartechea 3" boxlock ejector. Until recently it was bored way too tight at full and full, It`s now a more civilised half and quarter. I haven`t looked to see if the gun is marked with the original degree of choke but there`s no conundrum here. The chokes have simply been eased. TIGHTCHOKE
Fire some shells through it at the pattern plate and that should tell you what choking the gun has.
