ROBLATCH
highly unlikely,i have been to numerous game fairs and paid the same as elsewhere if not more.they seem to give a discount but before they do that they add the discount to the price of the item your buying,so afterall you are still paying the same.in this day in age nobody gives anythin for nothing. Cranfield
Sometimes you can pick up a bargain late on the last day of the Show, because the Trader doesn't want to be carting stock home. Beware the stalls that only sell at Shows and markets, the stuff (usually clothing and footwear) is cheap, brands you have never heard of and they will tell you its really "Barbour" in a different label, but it is rubbish. Zips break, seams leak, a real disaster. Paul Hart is a very nice bloke.
Graham M
Be careful what you buy at the Game fair. I have seen some awful wrecks being sold at the game fair for shocking amounts of cash and people have bought them thinking they are getting a good deal. Some of the more unscrupulous dealers take their rubbish to game fairs to get shot of them. G.M.
bobt
At the prices the traders pay to get there, and the entrance to the gamefair for the punters, I wonder who makes money? they say they cannot afford to discount as it can cost a couple of grand for a weekend. when did you last pay to enter a market? SNAKEBITE
I have had some excellent bargains at game fairs. There is a lot more choice and competition at the fairs and this obviously helps. However all I buy is kit and would not buy a rifle of any description as you will not have an aftermarket service available. Bit different from a pair of gloves or a veil! Buy cheap and buy twice. mel b3
at the midland a couple of years ago , one of the gunstalls had a sxs baikel for £3 and a single barrel baikel for £1 , they were certainly rough guns but at that price you could burn the stocks as it would be cheaper than coal. i must agree with the guys above , paul hart is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet , the after sales sevice you get with paul is also second to none . Dunkield
The Midland is where you will find the best bargains, the last serious game fair of the year, I bought all the bits to put my .22 outfit together there a few years ago. I wouldn't buy a secondhand gun at a game fair unless the shop was fairly near to where I live.
