sam triple
I got a phone call last week from firearms officer to say my renewal was in the post , but not a word from the doctors regarding payment for doing their bit even though I was in the surgery yesterday , do all doctors charge ? or have I been lucky on this one
Robden
My doctor didn't charge, but that was 2 years ago. My friend renewed his last year, and same doctor, didn't charge him either.

A mate was charged by his doctor before they would even look at his
strimmer_13
Mine tried charging me £25 (which in hindsite is cheap compared to the misery some are going through on here) and I refused to pay. Feo phoned me and never mentioned it, I had the interview and recieved my licence in the post. Every thing was a little bit delayed but all sorted in the end. Don't know if I was lucky or they were so overrun they chose to overlook it, ive no idea. I really rate the Exeter team anyway Edited March 11, 2020 by strimmer_13
vmaxphil
Depends which force you're with i think, sounds like yours sticks to government guidelines like wiltshire so no hassle from the doctors
spurs 14
Renewed mine last year , never had to pay doctors fee , I’m with Suffolk so fair play to them

There are no price guidelines, so Doctors are free to charge what they see fit for what is non-NHS work. You are evidenty lucky in that your GP decided not to charge, mine was £25 which I was happy to pay. Others have not been so fortunate and there are horror stories on this forum of people being told to cough up between £100 & £200.
