I really enjoyed it! Great movie, i could fault it but what do you expect from Hollywood ey!

Mark Wahlberg (or shall i say Dirk Diggler  ) was great. The plot really wasn't but hey it sure beats Sniper and the XXXX sequel, eat your heart out Tom Behringer.

Anyone else seen it yet?

WP,

I saw it about 6 weeks ago over here .

I thought the graphic scenes of headshots were brilliantly done but how did that get past the censor eh ?

I had read the book about 10 years ago and thought the film was just as good. In fact I'd forgoten the ending so I enjoyed it all over again

If you fancy the book this was based on ( and some others ) the author is Stephen Hunter.

P.S. Everytime I see your posts it reminds me of a brilliant holiday I had round your way a few years ago... I even got to see a Sambar.

Yep, i'm really enjoying it here. I've had plenty of offers for every type of shooting you can imagine. The only thing getting is the way is the fact i have to work nearly everyday. I'm saving enough to change that though, but by the time i'm off work it'll be bloody hot, the flies will be out in numbers along with the snakes and all the other creepy crawlies. I'm sure i'll have some great stories and pics to keep you guys amused throughout you winter though.

DiCaprio excelled in Blood Diamond (a terrific film with that rare thing "a bit of a plot") and Jim Carey (an actor I cannot abide) gave a good account in the film "number 23" - I think it is the only Jim Carey film where he is not playing the zaney mad comic genius that I am afraid he is not. Oh tell a lie that Andy Kaufman film (Man on the Moon) wasn't bad.

Blood Diamond was a cracking film! Really enjoyed it even though, like you, I have a problem with DiCaprio.

:D

DiCaprio actually did that whole Afrikaans thing pretty well, ptentially risky - much to my surprise.

Jim Carrey,Ben Stiller,Adam Sandler - second rate annoying little sh!tes the lot of them.

Ooooh I don't know. Jim Carey was perfect in "The Mask" (still one of my fave films) and he was very good in Eternal Sunshine. When he wants to, he can be very good, but he's just generally manic and I think has to play down to be serious.

What bugs me about Adam Sandler/Ben Stiller and the like (excluding Zoolander, which was hilarious) is that the same people seem to be in the different films that they all put on. How many times have you seen Ben Stiller in a film with Adam Sandler or Will Ferrel? All the time. That's annoying. Will Ferrel is annoying.

As for the worst film ever... I have tried to watch The Punisher twice now. Paid good money for it. Both times I have yet to finish watching it. It's that rubbish. Mind you, I have refused to watch Titanic (Because it's got Di Caprio in and is ****), Pearl Harbour (Factually incorrect and ****e) and The Beach (Di Caprio in and because they ruined a perfectly good natural beach to make the setting). They could be worse.

Just watched Shooter... GF is now firmly aware that I am going to have to buy it for the collection. The .50 cal he has as a personal weapon I have seen shot before. Great piece of kit.

However, I disagree about the "5 oto 6 seconds" they quote for a .50 doing 1800 yards. Shuely no more than 2?
