eddoakley
Could anyone on here rehandle an Estwing axe/hatchet? Possibly make a leather sheath too, something like the original if possible. If possible I'd like the same person to be able to polish and sharpen too but no problem if not, I could do that bit myself. Can't spend a fortune but happy to pay a reasonable amount. Not in a great rush either if that helps. It's nothing special but was given to me by my late grandfather and I rediscovered it today and it's in a pretty sorry state. Please pm if you can help. saddler
Maybe add a couple of photos to let people gauge the current condition?

figgy
Hope you get it sorted, nothing like sentimental tools you can use too.

The handle in the vid is very good but I'd really like to get leather back on there. Will try to remember pics later and hopefully someone will want to do the job. fatchap
All depends on the condition of the leather stack. I've done a few where it looked like it would need a new handle but a quick going over on the belt sander reveales its not that bad, and a good soak in leather conditioner and re-dyed and polished and they look brand new. Like said some good pictures would help a lot. I did a bowie knife with stacked leather handle, I thought the leather was a right off but managed to get it back without too much work. Well thats a lie it was very hard work rubbing in that carnauba wax Edited April 10, 2020 by fatchap
