greylag
Just a thought ,but has anyone used a cartridge catcher on a semi auto.It is a real pain looking for ejected cartridges, especially in the dark or on the marsh. My old lab used to retrieve them but my new companion just hates picking up spent cartridges. Westley78
I recently tried the Birchwood Casey one which has good ratings but did’t work for me, if you want to try it out PM your details and I’ll post it to you...
Stimo22
Most of the catchers on the net seem to just stop the cartridge ejecting, so you can only use it as a single shot. Any other catchers appear to be large boxes that fit on the side, but hope a user on here has a better solution as I could not find one when I looked
steve_b_wales
I did make a deflector, which made the spent cases go down to the floor. It was 'primitive' but worked. I did intend to try and improve it but never got round to doing it. It didn't catch them though, just made them easier to pick up. I also use a strong magnet on an extendable (sweeping brush) handle. TIGHTCHOKE
Loads of chaps use them in America because they home-load and if the empty hull hits the ground, the shooting ground own it. The best ones I have seen were deflectors with a small bag underneath. You have to empty it after every couple of shots.
