Dougy
There you go miffy just for you was invited out to go onto miffy's pemission a couple of weeks ago, but to my forgetfullness i double booked and arranged to go out with another shooting bud, ****** it, had to call the invite from miffy off. A shame as it was a normal nights rabbiting and the odd fox with my other bud or go to miff's and shoot a more fox's.. Never mind, go next week he said. So any way i did finally manage to get out twice with Miffy and boy what an experience . the first was mainly just for rabbits but was told just bring the 22.250 as miffy was going to do the rabbit shooting and leave me to the fox's, Well to be honest i cant really remember enough to do a good commentry on last weeks night out but to be truthfull all i can remember is having a brill night out. and of course the 21 rabbits - the 2 or 3 we couldnt see in the stubble and the 3 fox's (all picked up) or was it 4? Now, well, last night was just for the Fox's, no rabbit shooting just my 22.250, bearing in mind i have'nt had it that long and not had that many fox's on front of it, this was an eye opener for me and Mrs Sako, The first fox was just 5 minutes into the trip, miffy was on the lamp, i was all loaded up and ready to shoot :o.Miffy gave it a call and it came in at an angle up and down it went its head bobbing over the furrows in the stubble, now and again it just seemed to dissapear then, Mr fox was down on the ground looking straight at us not moving all i could see was the top of his head and a pair of eyes, got the red dot of the IOR on the target and "Boom"----- "Thud" "lets go and get it comes the order to the driver" well it was not going to move too far. head shot from about 100ish Number 1 the next one i think was into the middle of a field again in the stubble and a chest shot from front on. Then well, i have really got to tell, i am far from perfect unlike some people, i dropped a big one. saw this fox from about 180 ish it was ferriting around after something in the field next to the one we were in, Miffy called it, we waited, called again we waited, nothing, it did move but not in the right direction, it just seemed to be playing with us squating and moving away slightly then squating again and watching us, any way the order was given to the driver to take off the hand brake and roll forward about 10 feet, hand brake off and roll, "NO" we had to rock a bloody grate LBW landy to get it to roll 10 feet, Buger me be carefull how much fuel we use tonight lads Back to the fox after the very carefully orchestrated monover the red dot was on "Boom"-------------------no bloody thud, oh **** i missed how did i miss after all that hard work of getting into position, i got the stern telling of that i trully deserved and suppose will for ever remember. Its kind of funny i am sure i had a smile on my face just before i squeezed the trigger being sure this was number 3. :( the next one was a sitter right under a hedge about 160ish again this was lying facing no hassle with this one just a case of dot on "Boom ----"Thud" another front chest shot i really was smiling this time Now my last one i was impressed with myself (oh forgot to mention i missed another one just before this one so had to prove something here) as mentioned i missed a siter from less that 100yds. But out of the 2 one ran towards a hedge and sat there yes you got it the red dot on "Boom"---------------------- for a split second i thought i missed -----"Thud" "lets go and pick it up" A brill night out  Thanks to Miffy and the driver Chris Miffy also got 2 that i was unsure about the shots and not ashamed to say B) few more picture to follow http://s214.photobucket.com/albums/cc271/dexterb/

JohnGalway
Its kind of funny i am sure i had a smile on my face just before i squeezed the trigger being sure this was number 3. I've missed a few foxes, for various reasons (everyone does - or is lying :o ) but those ones I thought I had easy and smiled... I hate those ones!! Ye'll clean them up again, they all slip up eventually and it's that kind of fox that is the most rewarding (if that's the right word) to get in the end - one you've to work hard for. Well done to all involved

miffy
I think it was just the one fox when i took you out the other night (and 22 rabbits......don't forget the one that was shot with the .22/250) I shot 7 foxes on the night you were originally meant to come out though....and 17 rabbits. and had another 2 after that The first fox wasn't the easiest of shots so don't worry too much about it........just think of all the phesants that the 3 legged fox will eat now :o The 2nd miss was also a tricky one, the fox moved forward a split second before you fired The 2 i shot were tricky shots which i am sure you would agree, well you did spend 5 minutes looking at one of them The last shot you took was a good 200 yards long and considering your experience was an excellant shot. John i said it last night and i'll say it again .....don't worry about the 2 missed foxes..... it happens unfortunately. below is a pic of he 1st fox shot by John. The .22/250 certainly does the job The bill for the missed foxes is in the post mate and bookings are now being taken for a spot of fox shooting on some prime fox shooting ground
