fatchap
Pop down to your local B&Q and spend a good half an hour watching people trying to get their stupidly sized real Christmas tree into their cars. Its hilarious. Yes it will fit in your living room but its going to be a squeeze in that Toyota Yaris. One bloke who had me in stitches had a tree at least seven foot it was way taller than him. I watched him with tears rolling down my face as he wrestled with this tree trying every which way he could think of to get it into a Aston Marten convertible, he tried the boot first...no chance no room in their for a packet of fag papers. He tried the passenger seat, no chance had about 4 foot sticking out the window. He could have dropped the roof, been a bit chilly but at least he would have got it in. He gave up in the end and took it back in, came back out with a considerably smaller one which still put up a fight. I cannot believe these people. If your going to buy a small bit of Norways foliage borrow or hire a van. I used to have the same thing when I worked briefly for a furniture company, Why people didn’t bring a tape measure with them to the store and measure the sofa first, was beyond me. Yes it will look nice in your living room. But it won’t fit through your front door never mind the other doors on route . Only way to get that in is take your window out. Of course if they lived in a first floor or more flat that was a completely different problem. Can honestly say after the week I have had at work, that has cheered me up no end. TIGHTCHOKE
It would probably have been deliverable by negotiation with B & Q, couple of quid and no grief!

Must have inherited the money and the car as he has no brains.
The Heron
I normally keep my face straight and suggest that they cut it in half and glue it back together when they are back home.
TIGHTCHOKE
Many years ago, friends of mine bought a massive artificial tree in the January sales. When it got round to December they dug the tree out of the loft and put it together and it was 3 feet taller than the ceiling in the living room. Looked rather odd without the top section! Benthejockey
About 4 years ago we went on our usual Xmas tree recovery mission which had happened for the last 10 or so. In a similar vain to scrumping apples as a kid, these trees were long over grown pheasant cover. It was all a little bit illicit but in reality the the farmer knew we were there and would borrow a tree and didn't care, it helped his little spinney. Anyway after much deliberation on which one was straightest, not scorched by the Welsh wind and didn't have resident owls and pine martens we chose said tree. I knew it was big. It poked out the back of the horse trailer but that was fine itd definitely fit....got it home. Wrestled it through the double French windows and stood it up.....14 1/2 feet high. Step daughter put the fairy on top by standing on a box on top of the landing 😂 Mrs BTJ banned anymore free range Xmas trees.
