dustyfox
When I was a baby I was diagnosed with epilepsy. but that was 22 yrs ago. I have not had a seizure since I was a baby and Have stopped taking medication when I was 13. So it very much does not effect me anymore. I am just wondering this wont effect me on getting a SGC? because their is a section where it sez is there any history of epilepsy. And also I have a driving licence and am driving. I am sure if they can allow me to drive they can allow me to have a SGC. Please help me I have been delaying my application for years now because I am worried they will say no. Any Advice would really be a big stepping stone for me, as it may give me confidence. Thanks in advance
Mungler
Don't be such a lady, stick your application in you will be fine. The worst that can happen is they will say no which will mean you can't have an SGC which is erm.... exactly where you are now. So by my calculations you have nothing to lose save the 50 quid fee. On here there are people with old criminal records, old drink driving convictions, histories of mental illness, histories of transvestism, people with homo erotic tendancies, bad hair cuts and bad breath but they have SGCs. If you need any clarification on any of the points raised just PM "LB" as he ticks all the boxes if you know what I mean.
jayward
yehh stick it in tbh as you have a driving licence i can not see them having an issue with your epilepsy ,they will write t your doctor so i would say be honest 100% as Mungler says bud ya have nothing to lose and i have read that you even get your fee back if you do get a knock back !!! Shootingman
Put all your medical history on the form, don't hide anything coz they will find it from your Doc., when he tells them you ended your medication 13yrs ago there will be a SGCon its way. Good luck, but you won't need it, get your application in the post m8.

Tom Janaway
when i got interveiwed yesterday i was told there were only 5 reasons that a person can be dinied a sgc. They are: 1. insanity 2. drug problems 3. alcohol problems 4. depresion, and other stuff like that 5. not being right in the head ( i thought have thought that was the same as insanity ) if you fall into any of those catagories then it would be 4. But if you havent had a seisure in ages then you shoule be fine tom

You shouldn't have a problem with your application if you are honest and declare everything mate. Tom Janaway has given you the major points regarding a refusal but there is also the 'known friends' file that police intelligence (sic) hold. You won't find it on any of the Home Office guidelines but it is used LB

al4x
You dont even loose your £50 as if you dont get it they wont cash the cheque so you have lost .37p on a stamp are you sure? They cashed my cheque 3 days after the application went in then took 16 weeks to process it. As said if you can drive etc you will be fine with something that happened that long ago. Do mention it on the application and do mention how many years since you had problems and they will be fine
tulkyuk
They always cash the cheques - but will give you another in return
