winchester6500
Hi Has anyone loaded fibre wad on a MEC 9000GH or any other progressive press? I was wondering is it was much hassle as I believe the wads need to be inserted manually. Thanks in advance
sitsinhedges
I usually load plastic but I have pushed a few fibres along with nitro card thru my 20g 9000 and they fed thru the wad guide just fine.
Saltings
when loading fibre i cut a cartridge case put the over powder card wad and under shot card in the short tube and offer it to the machine to push in all in one go works for me reliably

winchester6500
This was MEC's reply "To reload using fibre wads you would need to tilt the shell out at the 3rd station and manually insert the fiber type wad into the shell" "It works easier on a single stage press as the shells can be tilted out or even easily removed from all station. This can also be done on the progressive reloaders but it is easier on a single stage such as the Sizemaster or Mark V models" Thanks again guys 16 hours ago, Saltings said: when loading fibre i cut a cartridge case put the over powder card wad and under shot card in the short tube and offer it to the machine to push in all in one go works for me reliably This is a nice idea and ingenuity 👌

enfieldspares
If the OP sends me a PM I am happy to send him eight fibre wads in 12 bore to try before he commits to buying more.
Jimbo yorks
Had the over powder card flip every so often but other than that not a major issue. I'm due to start playing with my pw900. Want to have a play with blue dot, 40 gram loads and fibre to see what I can come up with!
Minky
It isn't easy to stack a 4mm OP card, a 2mm cork and an 18mk fibre ontop of one another and drive the whole lot through the wad guide in one go.
