Stimo22
We have a lake that seems to have gone off the boil as far as ducks are concerned. We wondered if a few decoys may help but do not know how to set them out. It is to deep to wade out and don’t have a boat. Need to put out each time we shoot so how do we get them in and out, looked on net and can’t find much good advice. Any advice would be helpful, also best lace to obtain some decoys
JDog
If no ducks are going into your pond then putting out decoys will be pointless.
holloway
Feed it and rest it ,forget the decoys as Jdog says if they aren't visiting they are a waste of time.
ditchman
you need to start from scratch.............raise some mallard ...release them...keep the pond fed....dont over feed and dont over shoot ........

Gas seal
Hi what is the size of your lake,it must be a good size if you want to use decoys. what time of the day do you shoot and how often. What type of duck are using the lake, are they resting during the day. You don’t have to shoot by the lake you can flight them coming and going. You may have over shot it, it doesn’t take much shooting to move them. A few decoys in a lake should be easy to do with a small weight and a string line. Stimo22
The lake is about 1 1/2 acre and we have 6 auto feeders that feed twice a day. We have a smaller pond with two feeders that we get lots of duck on. The larger water used to attract a good many duck but over the last few years it has dropped off. This may be that there are lots of gravel works in the area. The large lake is shallow at edges and several areas where we feed . Do have some ducks that fly round and off and wondered if decoys would help. The problem is we don’t know how to set them up as most of the online information show people clipping them on lines by wading in. We can’t do that so how do we get the out and back in and keep them in position
