henry d
Saw this today while out fishing heading into Newcastle international and followed by a small commercial, never seen a military plane come in to Newcastle before. Any spotters help me out?
Jaymo
Looks like a C-17 GlobeMaster to me 🤔
TIGHTCHOKE
Yes a C17 Globemaster, probably RAF but could be an American. Edited November 10, 2021 by TIGHTCHOKE

Jim Neal
I stood in the rather sizeable shadow of one of these beasts at the Royal International Air Tattoo, at RAF Fairford a few years back. It's like a tower block laid on its side with wings attached. You could drive your car into those engines 😵 It's a wonder it can fly! I don't recall anything on that subject but then there's a lot to take in at a show the size of RIAT! It was the year Vulcan XH558 did her last ever shows not long before she was grounded. She arrived in formation with the Red Arrows and treated us to some wonderful fly-pasts, complete with Vulcan Howl

I think actually it was a training flight. It was going round and round Teesside Airport, "Touch and goes" is my guess. It was a very slow vehicle though, just seemed to hang in the sky. RS Could be, I used to see it most times I was wildfowling on the Eden estuary, but I should have seen it either take off again unless it just did one or return for another.
