A BIt Of A Do

Three old West Country gets who had never met were invited to London for a bit of a do. One was 89, one 79 and one 78 - that’ll be me. The tough one was the 89 year old. We were driven up on Wednesday arriving mid afternoon, bit of a do was for Thursday and home after breakfast on Friday. Unfortunately, the 89 had a fall on Friday tripping over a luggage grip and going down like a ton of bricks. 78 and 79 said the If at all possible  as we all came together we’d all go together. Now, if you’re going to take a fall it’s handy if you do so in one of the country’s best hospitals and in the ICU in particular. We all got on like a house on fire and within no time at all he was surrounded  by most of the ICU staff. so, what were we doing there? We’re all home now having all had a TAVI on Thursday

TAVI (Transcatheter aortic valve implantation)
A TAVI is a medical procedure that involves fitting a valve into the heart to treat aortic stenosis. If you're an adult in need of an aortic valve replacement and aren't well enough to have heart valve surgery, you may be given a TAVI procedure instead.

Curious so I googled it.

Hope it all goes well for you.

Many thanks. All OK so far. Yep, the collateral damage is small but it is heart surgery and it does take it out of you somewhat. We picked poor old 89 up and sat him in a chair only to see his eyes roll back and for him to slide gracefully back down again.
