30-6
Wanted to put a small curtain pole up in a porch. The fittings that go on the wall to hold the pole up had holes in it drilled at 45%. How are you supposed to drill into a brick wall at 45% to fit wall plugs ? oldypigeonpopper
Can you not redrill at 90 % ?
Diver One
Start drill,as normal, at 90° to the wall slowly angle drill downwards to 45° whilst applying pressure. It's quite easy once you have the knack
jeffgg
Use the fitting as a template
Mice!
You could just attach a piece of battern to the wall and screw into that.
30-6
As suggested I drilled the fixings at 90% opened the hole up a bit, as it's in the porch they're out of sight.

This. ^^ You will likely be drilling into a lintel, so it could contain some re-bar and **** law its going to be exactly the same spot your wanting to drill the pole fixings. By adding a wooden batten you will have the length of the batten to fix to the wall, then add the pole fixing to that. With regards pre drilled holes i see that as less of a problem.
