Venison pie

I had slow-cooked a venison shank for Boxing Day and had loads of meat left over, but alas used all the gravy, so I made wholemeal flour pastry (all I could find) and fried onion, garlic, mushrooms and added a good slosh of port, the meat and a good chunk of Shropshire Blue cheese to make the filling.

It was delicious πŸ˜‹Β

Thanks.

I had been given two huge chunks of Stilton and Shropshire Blue for Christmas, so, channelling my inner Jamie Oliver, I melted a good chunk of Shropshire Blue into the filling sauce. It made it very creamy and certainly added a level of umami.
