This is probably caused by either a very weak spring or /and a light bolt or /and too big a gas ports that action the bolt . This would lead to a bolt coming back too early while there is still significant pressure inside the case meaning the brass gets ripped off cos the plastic is still being pushed hard into the breech walls and sticking while extraction is taking place . I don't think your suggestion is too far from mine above re: primer popping. I'm thinking about the separation mechanism though. Presumably you think the bolt claw is pulling the brass off the case as the bolt goes back whilst the pressure holds the plastic part in the chamber? On consideration, that seems more likely than explosive separation as I can't imagine there's much opportunity for the gas to get between the case and the brass - the primer would pop before those layers in the case separated. One last thought I had was whether these were smooth or ridged cases (can't remember the proper name). Smooth plastic would presumably stick more from higher friction. I'd be interested to know the outcome of a comparison. Likewise, a 2½" cartridge, which presumably, being lower pressure, wouldn't stick (or be as likely to). It may not be but it seems more plausibly than the firing pin to me . This would also explain why so far its only the semi autos having issues and not the pumpers . i can go with that
Ultrastu
The layvale case in the photo above looks like a smooth plastic case to me . That's a good thought about a ribbed case neutron . I guess if my suggestion above is the correct diagnosis then it would lead to a bolt coming backwards early and reducing barrel pressure as the shot goes up the bore leading to poor velocities and excessive flash and noise from the breech .I wonder if this has been experienced .? 🤔
Stonepark
Sounds like the inertia spring within the bolt head is not strong enough allowing rearward movement before pressure has dropped sufficiently.
243ack
I've been told redesigned gas pistons are being retrofitted - when they arrive!.
mickanles
After testing various different brands of cartridges it seems it’s only the lylvale which fault in this gun, Primers pushed out, heads separated from case, Will send an email & report the findings

Now awaiting redesign of the redesign and shipping of gas piston. My customer is amazing: still wants to wait. I'm hacked off with chasing this after months.
