Just got to say I love it when shooters actually do a meal out of the wilds. When I was a very young lad my Dad used to do a form of subsistance shooting in as much as he was bringing up 4 kids on a miners wage and back in the day wasn't worth a deal so he shot to keep us going in meat when times were hard. Hare stew was among a lot of meals Mum did us and we wolfed it down. Along with pigeons, Ducks Geese , Rabbits etc. we were well fed and of course got myself and 2 brothers shooting although our sister also took Interest she never took it up.

Looks great, never tried hare,  what does it taste like, guessing quite tough and gamey

It’s not tough if you cook it long and slow, it’s as gamey as you want it. I normally prep it the following day once the rigour has worn off as I don’t like it gamey

At one time we used to eat a lot of Hare's , these would be many Leverets as we sold the big ones to the game dealer ( Frost Game ) who at one time paid £5 for a full size Hare , we would joint them out like you did with a Rabbit , one of the best ones I had was when my younger brother lived on a farm near Wisbeach and he had excess to plenty of game , we had been out shooting all day and when we got home his wife had done a baked Hare that was done in cider , it melted in your mouth and a meal you won't forget in a hurry .
