enfieldspares Posted February 14, 2023 Report Share Posted February 14, 2023 I would speculate that he used it to pull bullets from cases? By putting the complete cartridge in the shellholder and raising it up in the press from which there was no actual die in place. Then gripping the bullet where it peeped through at the top of the press where the die would usually and then lowering the ram whilst still gripping the bullet.
