It has been reported that an asteroid is passing between us and the moon today.  The asteroid is estimated to be about 90 Mts in diameter which is about the diameter of the hight of Westminsters Elizabeth tower 316 ft which houses Big Ben and is moving at about 17,500 miles per hour.  Now they say that they don't totally know what's out there in the blackness and they found this small one ?!!!!  About a month ago.  OK in this instance it is going to mis us BUT what would have been the planning if it was going to hit us somewhere.?  Some may remember a few years ago that a smaller one passed over Russia early one morning.  That one sort of burnt out and blew up at altitude but the shock wave blew out windows and damaged buildings etc as it passed over. see YouTube vid,  Does anyones household insurance policy cover for asteroid strike or does that come under ACT OF GOD.?  if you survived the impact to try a claim.  A clip of the one over Russia

My highlights of the video:

The guys scarpering through a door into what looks like a portacabin, only for it to fall down seconds later revealing it to seem like merely a panel with a door in it.  They could have gone around it?!

"My beard was cut open!" this man says.

I don't worry about the the past, the inevitable, or things outside of my control.  Meteor strikes fall into the latter, so if it happens it happens!  Not healthy to spend too long thinking about this sort of stuff IMO!

It's  not a case of worrying about this sort of thing because we've got no control over any of this but seeing as they only found this asteroid a month ago,!  Now considering that Russian one was half the size of the one that went between us and the moon, consider the structural damage that, that one did.  The Russin one was an airburst.   IF that one had collided with us it could have created a massive sunnamy or completely destroyed a city like London or Manchester. Considering the state of the country's finances regarding everything imagine what effect would have on our lives.  It sort of makes packing a bug out bag for the prepers a bit of a non event.

Meteors are over rated, a couple of weeks ago (12th March) we just missed a Carrington Event (x45 Solar Coronal Mass Ejection) as it was aimed away from the Earth on the far side of the Sun.

If it had been directly aimed at Earth, you might have said goodbye to most of the micro electronics and electricity grid over most of the planet... Instant return to the 1800's.

Sounds wonderful.
