I haven't put one of these up for a while so I thought I would show two very interesting specimens which I inherited in the garden when I bought this house. The previous owner was a Botanist.

One is a winter flowering shrub the other is a rare tree.

Any guesses?

Correct with the first one, Edgeworthia chrysantha Garandiflora.

The second one appears to be a bit special. Until 1994 it was only known through fossils and was believed to be extinct. Then a stand of them was found in New South Wales. It is a Wollemi nobilis, a Wollemi pine, quite a rare plant until recent years.
