Nothing makes you feel more manly then a lever action. Not sure if I will take game with a 45lc as I have better options but this will look good over the door of the off grid cabin I am working on. Honestly it’s how I end up with 90% of my guns. My wife is taking so long to shop I go to the hunting fishing section and before I know it I find a new rod/reel or gun. There was a Roses clothing Store in the mall that use to sell military surplus. It’s closed now but about 20 years ago they had barrels of mosins and lee enfields for 69$ each or 3 for $150. I would like to have a 357 as I can load 357 over here dirt cheap. But my fat fingers coupled with a back injury that left my right hand numb I have a hard time getting them into the loading gate. I still have an Alpha 357 long barrelled revolver but use 3 grains of Bullseye with that. I get 922lbs robot weights from work and cut them up. But primers over here are the expensive part now. They were 25$ per 1000 two years ago and I just paid $65 for 1000. 😳. The last batch of 38 special I loaded 9mm bullets because they were 30$ per 1000 and they worked great for hitting steel targets out to 50yards. But even buying the bullets I was $110 per 1000. Around 2004 truck loads of Canadian surplus rifles and .303 ammo hit the market. Drove the market down to Mosin Nagant levels. I gave $69 for my rifle and $39 each for 400rd cans of Canadian ball ammo. That’s all dried up now. Everyone bought the Lees and “bubba’ed” them. Meaning they cut them up to look like modern rifles. I know right. We were paying that a year ago. Luckily in the last few months we have seen the influx of many different offbrand primers. The $65 ones I just bought are Bosnian.
