Had a look at a 525 in 16 bore, dealer said it was a 20 bore action with 16 bore barrels and it did have that appearance.

Are the older citori white Lightning’s the same? Or built on a dedicated action?

May I ask what weight it was?

Having looked at the possibilities of building 16 bore barrels for B25's the small bore action and mono block was to small .I can only assume as they are all based on the same  basic design , that Miroku would not make a specific action for such a small demand gun world wide .

Having also considered one of these - I found them to weigh typically about 7lb 4oz with 30” tubes. Too heavy for me, as it was going to be a dedicated walked up gun.

I agree, 7lbs + for a 16 bore defeats the object. Should be around a pound less i.e, 6 to 6lbs 4oz.

The Lincoln (FAIR) range are the only ones that I know of being made on a dedicated 16 bore action, but I`m sure there must be others.

In that case, Sir, I think that Beretta (?) made a lightweight aluminium action 12 bore over and under? The Beretta Ultralight. Hope it helps! Or the currently made Ultraleggero.

Yes that’s certainly a good solution 👍. Last season I covers miles with my standard 12 bore and it seemed to weigh twice as much by the end of a day…. 🙂

Yes. I went squirrel shooting last season but one with my usual 12 bore side by side that weighs 6lbs 14ozs and even that felt too damned heavy by the end of it climbing up and down cuttings and embankments and the sides of a river valley I'd ask why is a 20 bore not under consideration? With today's now standard 70mm cartridges it gives a full one ounce payload.

Haven’t ruled out a 20 yet….. or even a 28…..?!

I'd dismiss the 28 as it is IMHO in modern made guns too near a 20 bore. Heck I've even seen modern made .410 guns that weight 6lbs 4ozs and wonder quite what's that all about! I think the 28 is a better .410 than is the .410 but that a modern 20 bore is a better 28 bore than is a 28 bore. Which is a roundabout way if saying that modern guns in 28 bore weigh so near to modern lightweight guns in 20 bore that you might as well get the 20 bore.

Or heavier if on a 20 frame with the thicker barrel walls
