wymberley
Re the police guidance for the Subject. I have never noticed the current guidance issued by various constabularies before and perhaps this could go some way to explaining why our applications are now taking so long as staff have been busy making this up. Could it be that this is another way to reduce the FACs held by frightening off potential referees.
bluesj
Why what is new? https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/63e284a78fa8f50e89351509/Revised_Firearms_Licensing_Statutory_Guidance_Feb_2023.pdf looks the same as it has for some time or is it just some forces making it up as the go
wymberley
As said, I've never seen this before so I'm not too sure. Your link at Page 6, para's 2.21 to 2.24 is not quite the same as the new (to me): being-a-referee-v1-0.pdf (devon-cornwall.police.uk) (for example) (don't let your coffee get cold) Edited April 1 by wymberley

wymberley
Being PW, I'm a tad surprised no one has mentioned the date, but sadly I'm not joking.

As a referee you are vouching for someones good character, if you tell porkies you could be in the ****!

There must be a reason and the only one that I can think of is the one given.
