Another big thank you to Shambam1962

Recommended Posts

I mentioned in another thread how Shambam1962 had very kindly sent me some further pieces of wood to enable me to make more bottle stoppers.

This time he had sent some pieces that he had very skillfully laminated from various wood offcuts. He had also turned them circular to make it much easier for me.

I`ve made a couple thus far plus a few more from the Zebrano wood that he sent. Photos attached.

There really are some very kind people on this forum.

Hi Kevin,

I`ve always wanted a bandsaw but thought that there wasn`t sufficient space in my shed. Having had a clearout and tidy up, enough space was made, hence why I bought yours.

Such a versatile bit of kit that I`m so pleased with, which now enables me to carry out tasks that previously were not an option. All in all I`m very pleased with it and learning how easy it is to use.

So thanks again.

I’m pleased it went to you Chris, and it will be put to good use, and it’s a very good piece of kit 👍

I was given a larger Record bandsaw last year, and I refurbished it.

Since having the new bandsaw, I had the other one , not being used and gathering dust in the shed.

It had little use, when I purchased it and has been well looked after, and will last for years.

The bandsaw goes hand in hand with the lathe, and I would be lost without mine .

I received a jig today for sharpening my growing collection of second hand wood turning chisels and gouges, and I found sharpening the roughing gouges and spindle gouges a 2 minute job, and leaves them razor sharp and the correct grind, and most importantly, so easy to use 👍

Keep posting, your new projects, as I look forward to viewing them !

Looks even better in real life than the picture

😊

many thanks I shall put it to good use

and a lovely surprise to find it in the post this evening 😊👍

Do you have a morse taper in the tail stock of your lathe?

Glad that you like it.👍

Yes a morse taper in the tail stock and a special bottle stopper mandrel in the head stock which makes turning a relative doddle, even for me:whistling:.

But thanks still go to Shambam1962 who has helped and pointed me in the right direction all the way.
