Depends on how you look at it, they were making out on the news that it was a great result,  lots of friendly groups meeting up, the vicious far right put off by the police response and sentences handed out.

Then they said but it was mid week, people have work and won't have been drinking,  another little pop at the protests.

It seemed so obvious though, 100s of police on standby,  properties boarded up, protests stood around,  but I'm sure it's far from over, hopefully the next protests are peaceful, there's no reason for the police to be getting assaulted,  but somehow I doubt it.

I find it interesting if the protests/riots haven't happened because people have jobs to go to.

If that's the case it would suggest to me it's not the usual dregs of society on our streets, but predominantly 'normal' people (although their behaviour certainly wasn't).

If that's the case, I see it as far more concerning as I had assumed it was mainly far right idiots and not normal working people.

Of course it's normal people , the lady in Leeds. Who tooks some lollies pops out to give to the police as it was a warm evening and asked. What was going on and when were they going stop it. . And ends up getting arrested. Quite shocking to see her interview .

I'm sure there are a lot of normal people involved,  and a small minority of idiots happy to cause trouble,  but the Gov and media want to tar everyone against illegal immigration as far right, I'm not far right, and I doubt many on here are, but I'm sure most want the boats stopped 

There used to be loads of fuss over illegals entering on lorries across the channel, now they are being welcomed with benefits and a bed waiting.

I'm not so sure, just the behaviour alone by many of the people there tells me enough. 

I'm as annoyed as anyone about illegal migration and our governments lack of action, but smashing private property, burning police cars, racist abuse and intimidating communitys is plain wrong. I'll agree with riots the day a tyrannical government starves it's people, or starts genocide or something. Until then the correct course of action is voting for change. The option was there with reform, who I voted for, Labour won and I believe in democracy, which is what annoyed me with breixt, it'd make me a hypocrite to attempt to overturn democracy, particularly trying to use violent action.

A polical  party would never tell you there true intension, as they would never get a vote or get into power . Labour has been in a few weeks and look at the country  Starmer  will go down in history  as the worst  PM.  The country can not wait 4 years plus for the next election .

Considering how badly the Cons did with illegal immigrants I don't think it was a stretch to know that "smashing the gangs" was going to achieve nothing. If people are against it they need to vote a party in that will deal with it (I would suggest reform) and make peaceful protest. Rioting will do nothing other than harm innocent people and probably cause restrictive laws to be made that will impact the ability to peacefully protest in future.

Agree I voted Reform , because they said. They wanted. To do something about it .  The other two main  parties. Did not was it all the Cons. Fault what about those. That were  ment to do there. Job .
