Unexpected call

I haven't been pigeon shooting for far too long and was pleased to receive a call on Friday morning from an old shooting buddy. We arrived at a cut Wheat field at around 12.30, not many about however Pickerup has been shooting this farm for over 30 years so while not expecting a huge bag was quietly confident we would have some sport. Set up in the shade with the wind coming from behind us. Not a great start the magnet wouldn't work so we set up with 12 shells, two floaters and a sillosock. Slow for a couple of hours but it didn't matter, it was to be out was good to be out. I was really impressed with the sillosock and it seemed to be working as we had a few getting into range.  Things picked up and I had two doubles and he had three, we finished on 62 shot and 62 picked. Fantastic afternoon. Looking to drop to four days at work so will be planning more trips out. Thanks Pickerup, Top Bloke....!

I had forgotten how good it was to watch pigeons commit to a pattern, life's for living...have a good weekend lads 👍

Couldn't get access to my old account so have set up a new one, I have been out with a few on PW over the years. It would be good to catch up.

Sounds like you had a great day out pigeon shooting! It must have been nice to reconnect with an old buddy and enjoy some good sport in the field. Finishing with a perfect shot-to-pick ratio is impressive! Glad to hear you’re planning more trips once you drop to four days at work—sounds like a fantastic way to spend your free time. Hope you have many more successful outings ahead!
