ehb102
I do like what I learnt from this site. So much useful knowledge! Thank you, @oldypigeonpopper. I put it down to rodents as they were okay before this years but it was so cold our pipes froze for the first time ever. ETA steel sweat - that's condensation rather than water coming out the metal? Hello, Yes , under certain conditions like cold weather steel and Iron will go rusty ,The air moisture then condenses on steel or Iron so leaving it will then cause rust to appear and if left will take hold , A spray oil will stop further damage on steel but Iron as in Bridges painting is the usual remedy, When I started in Engineering all our Steel stock was out side in all weathers , In the winter we had to take indoors to dry off before cutting/ machining or welding , I do not think it is like that today Edited August 26 by oldypigeonpopper

So have the slabs - went for slabs rather than groundscrews. Waiting for both those to arrive. Hopefully up by the end of the next month. I also found out that Ridgeons are no longer called Rigeons, and that if you know someone who knows someone you can get a much better price on slabs.
