Dave-G
Wet and dry them with 800, then 1200 then 1500 grits and 2K lacquer them which contains a UV filter to keep the Polycarbonate clear for a good few years. If you don't want to lacquer them use even finer grit then rubbing compounds before T cut. You won't need me to tell you not to apply lacquer to polished surfaces but some mugs believe everything they see on youtube.
Down South
Tooth paste or wood ash, not a permanent fix but it only takes a few minutes to clean the lens nicely.
Keith RW
As above, wet and dry, plenty of soapy water. I have to do my 20 year old Xtrail every year to make it presentable for its MOT, I used a mop on a power drill with cutting and polishing paste this time around which worked easier but made a bit more (lot more) mess, lift bonnet up out of the way and mask off surrounding paintwork such as bumper and grill. Waxing afterwards lasts a while if not wanting to spray laquer
Shambam1962
Tru Grit superfine is perfect for plastics and acrylics. Easy to apply and buff with a mop on a drill, and watch the haze removed. A little goes a long way and is used on my acrylic pens. If you want some to try, I will pop it in the post for you 👍
ph5172
I use TCut or UPVC restorer whatever I grab first. usually a clean before summer then one at the end. I have been doing this for about 6 or so years. The joys of bangernomics Edited October 17 by ph5172
Rewulf
All of the above will work. Just be careful if using a machine polisher, the plastic surface will only take so much heat before permanent melty damage can occur !
